The frameworks we use to think about work are outdated

Career Insights Advisory is a research firm focused on workforce transformation.

What We Believe

01

What we call "normal work" is a 150-year experiment.

The 9-to-5 job, the career ladder, retirement at 65. These patterns feel permanent, but they emerged recently and are already changing.

02

You are operating inside assumptions you never chose.

The beliefs shaping your professional decisions were inherited from family, education, and culture. They feel like common sense, but they are not universal truths.

03

Security comes from capabilities, not employers.

The old model promised stability in exchange for loyalty. The new reality rewards portable skills and multiple options.

04

Your job is one arrangement of your skills, not the only one.

The same capabilities can be configured in many ways. Feeling stuck often means you are not seeing all the options.

05

Clarity comes from testing, not from waiting.

Many people delay action until they feel certain. In practice, certainty comes after you try something, not before.

06

What fits in one season of life will not fit in another.

Priorities shift and circumstances change. A professional life has chapters, and the chapters are supposed to look different from each other.

Managing Director

Alina Okun followed all the conventional career advice. Then she spent twenty years watching it become obsolete.

She held positions at Arthur Andersen, Simon & Schuster, and UBS. She served as CFO of a technology startup and worked as an angel investor. The work spanned a dozen industries and eight countries, and that range revealed patterns invisible to those who stay in single tracks.

In 2020, she shifted focus to independent research on workforce transformation. The work examines the gap between higher education and evolving labor market demands, the rise of alternative credentials, and the structural shifts reshaping how professionals build careers.

Her research has been published in the International Journal of Economics and Financial Issues. She is co-author of two bestselling books, including Luminary Leadership, a USA Today bestseller, and Meet You in Calabar, an Amazon bestseller.
